Bromley boxer Billy, 17, turns his life around to go pro

A BROMLEY lad is punching above his weight to become the UK’s youngest professional boxer.

17-year-old Billy "The Kid" Jackson has his last semi professional fight next month before making his professional debut in November.

The former Ravens Wood School pupil, who was expelled, has now turned his life around following a few minor brushes with the law.

He has been training for years in kickboxing and boxing and remains undefeated in the semi pro ranks.

As well as working as a boxing coach to fund private tutoring so he can finish his exams, Billy also trains twice a day, six days a week.

He is jointly coached by Gumshield in Eltham and Bromley Combat Sports, who said: “Signing with Dennis Hobson on a three-year contract, Billy is going all the way to world level.”
